Boilerplate
Meing is a 30-second mindfulness reset app for iPhone, built for the exact moment the spiral grabs you — when the morning meditation has worn off and the day is winning. One check-in — sense, breathe, affirm — takes under thirty seconds, and every check-in becomes a light in the user's personal universe. No streaks, no guilt, no 10-minute sessions. Meing was created by meditation teacher Ilia Grace and is published by Ilia Grace & Co Incorporated, Toronto.

Why it's different
Every meditation app asks for a session — ten minutes, a quiet room, a streak to protect. Meing is built for the other 23 hours: the moment mid-afternoon when "I can't turn my mind off, what's wrong with me, what's the point" starts up. Thirty seconds, wherever you're standing, and back to your day. It's presence as an all-day practice, not a scheduled appointment.
The story
In 2020, Ilia Grace wrote a self-help manuscript called The Joy Practice — a seven-step framework born from her own climb out of an emotional rock bottom. The editor called it "essentially upside down and backwards." The book never shipped, but the practice survived.
Then came the day that built the app: "I was in the middle of plunging a toilet, my youngest calling me from another room, my teenager sprayed a disastrous amount of pizza, cheese and sauce all over the kitchen, and I lost it! The calm from my morning meditation was gone before noon!"
The insight: a practice that only works in the morning isn't a practice — it has to carry you all through the day. The one piece of the framework she used constantly, in the mess, became Meing. The name replaced "joy" deliberately: presence over forced positivity.
